Duck & Goose 1,2,3 is one of those endearing childrens books that is both fun and educational for children. Even babies will love this little book. It’s a board book and made especially to be the right size for little hands to hold and carry around easily. In keeping with Tad Hills’ other books, this one has characters that will be like old friends to your youngsters. Duck, Goose, Thistle, and Bluebird are all active in this story, and will help your child learn to count and recognize numbers one through ten. Similar to the other stories, this one offers illustrations that are attractive, colorful, whimsical, and fun to look at. The author/ illustrator has done a wonderful job bringing his toy like characters to life, and having them draw even the youngest readers in with charm, action, and a great story line that will inspire and draw children back time and time again.
In Duck & Goose 1,2,3, the counting begins with the number one and goes through to number 10, each number counting particular things. Each number is represented big, bold, and colorful, along with pictures that allow the child to count how many. When the number two is taught, it is taught with a picture of the two ducks, Duck and Thistle. Young children will be thrilled to have this book to go to over and over as they learn to recognize their numbers, and to count objects. Number recognition and counting are concepts that should be learned before kids begin school. Having this book to help will make the learning fun.
While you are enjoying watching your children learn along with the characters in the board book, you will also be spending quality time with them, teaching them and helping them learn lifelong lessons in reading and counting. Duck & Goose 1,2,3 will soon become a favorite way to spend time together. There is nothing that will encourage the learning of new things, like time spent with a parent or other loved one, learning and having fun together. That’s what reading and sharing books such as this one will lead to, great together time while a love of reading and learning new concepts is developed.
