Dav Pilkey is an acclaimed writer who spells his first name wrong. Actually, the author of several wildly popular series of children’s books says he kept “Dav” after working a Pizza Hut, where a broken name badge maker left off
the “e.” Pilkey doesn’t mind he mistake. In fact, he likes the misspelled name and has kept it as a pen name throughout
his entire career. Although they may not know
how to pronounce it, most kids and their parents know Dav Pilkey’s name because he’s the author of some of their favorite books like the Captain Underpants series, viagra without a prescription Dogzilla, and Kat Kong. And his story entitled The Paperboy earned Dav Pilkey a Caldecott Honor.
In one of his most endearing board books, Big Dog and Little Dog Going for a Walk, the author captures the humor and fun of the lives of canines. It’s the sweet personalities, hilarious antics, and lasting friendship of Big Dog and Little Dog, the main characters in this book, that make them extraordinarily lovable creatures. Most dogs go for walks, snuggle up for naptime, and play in puddles. Big Dog and Little Dog are no different. And just like most dogs, these two characters are a bit mischievous, downright silly, and hate taking baths when they’re dirty. Although there is simple text and equally simple drawings through this board book, Big Dog and Little Dog Going for a Walk will enchant your little dog lovers! This board book’s simplicity and the lovable creatures that populate it are perfect for the target audience, which includes toddlers and preschool-aged children. The bright colors and sweet animals will draw children to this story. And because it’s a board book, it can stand the unintentional abuse that a kid can put a book through! It’s sturdy and durable so it’ll be around for all of your children! Dav Pilkey continues using his wonderful voice and tremendous writing style in Big Dog and Little Dog Going for a Walk, the second book in a series about two delightful yet naughty
canines. It’s a wonderful book for your youngest readers!
