It’s often amazing to think about the things that we teach our children. We teach them how to stand and how to walk, how to climb stairs and how to talk. Then there are the literary things that they need to learn, including how to recognize and say their alphabet, and how to count. Counting can be difficult for young children, which is why there are so many childrens books that have been designed to help children learn all about the different numbers and how to count. And, of course, Dr. Seuss has created a book that not only helps children learn how to count, but also helps them to recognize some of the primary colors and how to think differently as well.
One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish is the Dr. Seuss book that belongs in every preschool. This wonderfully funny and easy-to-remember book is all about teaching children in a way that is both educational and entertaining. There is no main character, and there is no story line. One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish is all about learning how to think differently. For instance, we go from “one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish” to “did you ever fly a kite in bed? Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head?”
One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish is a wonderfully fun book to read for children who are in their preschool years, and even for those beyond.
