Any parent knows that it’s not always the easiest thing to get your child off to bed. One moment they’re tucked away snugly in their beds, the next they’re asking for another drink, or another chance to go to the bathroom. Sometimes bedtime can last for hours, guaranteeing a headache for parents and a rough next day for children. Thankfully there are many childrens books that are there to help parents to get their little ones off to sleep, and of course you know that Dr. Seuss, that wonderfully poetic professor, is there to lend a hand with his Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book.
Unlike some of the doctor’s other masterpieces, Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book takes more than a few minutes to read. It’s a bit longer, and for good reason – the longer the story is, the easier it is to get your child off to sleep with one story. This story is also different from many of Dr. Seuss’s other books, for it focuses not on a character or on rhymes, but on the imagination. The illustrations are what catches the eye first. They manage to give children plenty to look at visually while you read to them of the many different creatures who fall asleep at night (including sleep walkers, sleep talkers, and snorers).
Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book is one of the best books for putting little minds to rest and for allowing your little ones to drift off to sleep in a colorful, imagination-filled world.
